The Senior Clinical Project Manager - Space Planning has experience with working with clinical staff and expertise with clinical processes which is essential to fulfill responsibilities, such as providing thought leadership, clinical operations subject matter expertise, and oversight to key stakeholders including VPs, directors, physicians and others. The Sr Project Manager may oversee aspects of the programming, planning, operations and project management for Strategic Space Planning. Provides thought leadership, coordination and support to staff, vendors, managers, and other stakeholders. Works with assigned departments and develops the implementation plan for successfully opening of new areas. Works with the multidisciplinary team to complete projects within budget, on schedule and meeting all program objectives as well as appropriate governmental regulations. The Senior Clinical Project Manager will provide analyses, recommendations, decision support, and project management for a broad array of issues in the areas of clinical work redesign, continuous process improvement and planning with hospital projects. As such, this role requires a combination of clinical perspective and leadership perspective, as well as a detailed understanding of clinical flows. The role may include organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; budget management; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals and objectives. This position requires a close working relationship with the LPCH/SHC Construction Team, LPCH/SHC Leadership, School of Medicine faculty, LPCH/SHC staff, contractors, consultants and vendors on a regular basis.

Utilizes clinical and business knowledge to be able to work with a variety of clinical and non-clinical departments to understand the impact of design decisions for efficient workflow, enhancing the patient experience, patient and staff movement and patient safety.
Maintains accurate, coherent, timely and auditable project records/files in accordance with department procedures; works closely with user groups on design and operational impacts.
Identifies best practice in relation to integrating safety and high reliability into the facility design. Works closely with Center for Pediatric and Maternal Values departments. Utilizes lean principles when reviewing design and operational impacts.
Establishes effective working relationships with key service physicians and medical directors.
Makes necessary technical, professional, business, budget and process decisions and ensures that all needed decisions are accomplished according to schedule, quality and budget guidelines.
May be assigned responsibilities related to the overall mission of the project such as assisting in the development of policies, guidelines and standards, maintaining department records, acting as department representative on committees and professional organizations, etc.
Utilizes effective problem solving methods to resolve project issues.
Utilizes project management tools (e.g. software programs, time management/planning systems, etc.) to achieve project objectives.
Prepares documentation which is organized, accurate and clear.
Utilizes Lean principles to optimize workflow, design and project management.
Utilizes effective problem solving methods to resolve project issues.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three(3) years of management and progressively responsible, directly related work experience. License/Certification: Nonerequired.

Knowledge of current theories, principles, practices, standards, emerging technologies, techniques and approaches in the nursing profession, and the health care system, and the responsibility and accountability for the outcome of practice.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care in the area of assignment.
Knowledge of principles of business and management strategic planning, leadership development, and education techniques.
Knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in health care and hospital system organization and administration sufficient to provide clinical management, leadership, coordination, and operational direction for assigned areas of responsibility.
